 The Application/Piping Engineer shall be responsible for generating detailed fabrication drawings and bill of materials for in-house fabrication of piping systems. The Application/Piping Engineer will coordinate design elements with the Engineers and Production Personnel to assure all requirements have been addressed.   

  • Provide technical support for the mechanical and piping effort including participation in planning and design; interpretation of design; application of construction methods; resolution and documentation of design conflicts; constructability reviews, etc.
  • Ensure that all mechanical and piping activities comply with company and contract requirements and support the overall schedule
  • Develop, implement, and administer project engineering procedures and other work controlling documents
  • Interface with all on-site personnel as required resolving problems, ensuring quality of construction, etc., in support of overall project schedule
  • Provide timely resolution to Request for Information (RFI's) from subcontractors, working with home office engineers or field Project Engineer as necessary
  • Engage office engineers on potential design improvements which will reduce cost and improve schedule, without jeopardizing quality
  • Maintain as-built documentation on site
  • Perform additional assignments per project manager's, construction manager's, or project engineer's direction

 Skills / Qualifications

  • Four-year BS degree in Mechanical degree or 10 years relevant field experience
  • Previous experience working on the mechanical and piping portions of power generation and/or industrial construction projects
  • Minimum of five (5) years practical experience in a related position
  • Knowledge of related construction codes, standards, etc.
  • Working knowledge of company computer systems and software necessary
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, plus demonstrated ability to work with multinational and multi-disciplined personnel
  • Strong client relations skills are a must
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing
  • Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, correspondence and memos
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete and abstract variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Excellent knowledge of and commitment to safety requirements
  • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner
  • Understands business implications of decisions
  • Follows through on commitments; meets productivity standards
  • Treats people with respect; works with integrity and ethically


The goal of the Application/Piping Engineer position is to efficiently develop and document requirements for the production of piping systems incorporated into Marcraft products. 


  • Read and interpret plans and specifications
  • Generate detailed 3D piping fabrication drawings
  • Develop bills of material
  • Provide coordination/oversight & development of piping fabrication drawings with Application Engineer and Production personnel
  • Ability to travel
  • Actively utilize company software & IT infrastructure to maintain project documentation and facilitate coordination with other company functions


 Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering/Drafting


  • Autodesk Inventor 3D software
  • MS Office:  Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Desire to work in a team environment
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Desire to learn new skills to enhance productivity and efficiency.
